Let’s talk! Let’s read, write and speak English – and let’s have fun while we do it!
This is my philosophy – everything is a lot easier if it is enjoyable. If you want to learn a language for whatever reason, it’s going to be a lot easier if you find it a pleasant experience.
That’s why I say: ‘Let’s talk’. What is talking? It’s communicating with others – and in order to communicate we need language. We all have our own, very precious, mother tongue but for many different reasons we sometimes decide that we need to communicate in a different language. I have studied French and Russian and I understand some of the difficulties encountered in learning another language. I assume that you have visited my website because you want to communicate more effectively in English.

You will probably want to know more about me – my name is Jenny, I’m a very positive person and I believe I can help anybody who wants to learn to achieve their goals. I don’t think age is important when it comes to learning so I am very happy teaching children and adults of all ages. I started teaching English to speakers of other languages 8 years ago and spent some time in Russia working for an English language school.
I have the Trinity College of London TESOL Certificate at Level 5 and am a native speaker of English. During my experience of teaching in Russia, I taught all age groups from 4 years old to adults, both as individuals and in groups. I particularly enjoy teaching on a one-to-one basis as we can then work at the level and with the content which is most suitable for that student which enables them to progress quickly.

I moved to the UK 6 years ago to work as a marketing professional in a large international organisation. It didn’t take long to realise that my decent level of academic English was nowhere near good enough for me to feel comfortable and confident in expressing myself professionally and building new friendships. What I needed is someone who’d be able to spot and fix my chronic grammar mistakes, build up on my existing vocabulary on a diverse set of topics and make my English sound more natural vs just grammatically correct. Although I spent my early years in South Africa my Scottish heritage is very dear to me and I have been a Scottish dancer since childhood and have taught dancing for many years. I also enjoy playing the bagpipes – although my neighbours may not enjoy it quite as much.
Family and friends are very important to me and I love to spend time with my children (now grown up and independent) and my three small grandchildren.
